Thurston County Fair Open Class Home Arts Department

Get Ready for the 2026 Thurston County Fair!

2026 Fair Dates are Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, 2026

Entry Day for Textile Divisions is Monday July 20, 2026, from  1pm - 7pm at Heritage Hall on the Fairgrounds.  Accepted on this day:

•     Needle Arts
•     Quilting Arts
•     Sewing Arts
•     Fiber Arts
•     Quilt Block Contest
•     People's Choice Challenge (Theme is "Eagle takes Flight" open to all textile divisions)

Entry Day for Food Divisions is Monday July 27, 2026, from 1pm - 7 pm at Heritage Hall on the Fairgrounds.  Accepted on this day:

•     Baking Arts
•     Food Preservation (including honey)
•     Beverages
  
•     Kitchen Arts 

Home Arts Exhibitors guide will  posted here and  on the Thurston County Fair Website 

Online Submissions continue for 2026.  Entries will open up on June 1.

Competitors for the Master Maker Award must enter on both days.

Pick-up Day is Monday, August 3, 1pm-7pm.

Home Arts People's Choice Textile Challenge for 2027 is Travel.  Whether that is inspired by a place you have been, a place you'd like to go to or a mode in which to get there.  The contest is open to every textile technique, from Needlework to Quilting to Sewing & Embroidery to Fiber Arts. We hope to display contest entries in the Heritage Hall "Dining Room" and include People's Choice voting for daily favorites. 

Stay tuned for 2027 info on the Quilt Block Contest.  Last year kits were available from Needle in Hand on College Street in Lacey.
